Nagarjuna Clarifies His Stand on the Rehman Dakait Role in Dhurandhar: 'Akshaye Khanna's Performance was Terrific'
'Dhurandhar' has been making waves since its release, with Akshaye Khanna's portrayal of Rehman Dakait becoming an overnight sensation. Rumors have been swirling that Nagarjuna was initially offered the role, but he has now set the record straight. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Nagarjuna revealed that he was never approached for the part, and he expressed his admiration for Khanna's performance.
'Absolutely not, I was not offered the role, but I wish I was! Dhurandhar is an exceptional film, and Aditya Dhar's direction is truly remarkable. I was a huge fan of his previous work, Uri! The entire cast delivered superb performances, and Akshaye Khanna was terrific,' Nagarjuna shared.
'Dhurandhar' marks a significant milestone as Khanna's most radical look yet, and the audience's demand for high-quality storytelling is evident.
Nagarjuna, currently shooting for his 100th film, also discussed the importance of taking time with significant projects. He emphasized that they are not rushing the process, aiming for excellence. 'After Dhurandhar, it is clear that audiences demand international standards of storytelling,' he stated.
Looking ahead, Nagarjuna will next be seen in a film set to release on January 15th, while Khanna is expected to reprise his role as Rehman Dakait in 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge,' scheduled for March 19th. Both actors have exciting projects lined up, including Khanna's 'Mahakali' and 'Ikka' after the sequel to 'Dhurandhar'.
